If you accidentally write a page instead of a post you can’t change that!
All you can do is unpublish the page and then copy the code into a post.

Well!!!!!!!!!!!, a software author has to think of MANY exceptions that happens to his his/her program and have a way to deal with that!. However, there IS a point of time wher enough is enough, you just CANNOT handle all exceptions!.
SO seriously tho, if you click on write page, instead of write post!, and you just went on and on and on in your post. To find out later that its a page not a post!!!!!!!, i donno, i would take the decision NOT to introduce new code and features that will account for that!.
Introducing new features will increase the complexity of your software exponentially on its time line, and you HAVE to be SURE that the feature your introducing is useful to many/alot of your software users!. Which in this case, i want to guess not!.

Very true, I do agree with you there.
And as I said in my original post, it doesn’t take much effort to work around that problem by pasting your code into a post instead and then deleting the page!
